(TEMECULA, CA)- MDK KTM’s
Justin Brayton competed in the U.S. Open of Supercross this past weekend in Las
Vegas, NV. Brayton went into the
weekend with very high hopes. He was
confident in all aspects of the spectrum.
The two night event, hosted in the infamous MGM Grand Garden Arena,
proved to be a successful one for Brayton.
On Friday, Brayton went into
the night program with the third fastest lap time. He landed himself behind only Supercross champions, James Stewart
and Chad Reed, respectively. With that
said, Brayton also took third in the Superpole event with a time of 43.683. As the night went on, he continued to
impress. He won his heat race, ahead of
Josh Hill, Michael Byrne, and Ivan Tedesco.
In the main event, the Iowa native was on top of his game. He was racing with top 450 riders such as
Andrew Short, Ivan Tedesco, and Josh Hill.
After a tip over from the Honda boys, Justin improvised and took fourth
for the night. After an excellent Friday
night, Justin Brayton went into Saturday feeling great. Unfortunately, he crashed during practice
and his hand was sore. He earned
himself seventh in practice. As the
night went on, Justin had a small bobble in his lap for the Superpole event which
ended up landing him eighth. Brayton
was in the third heat and finished third, behind Stewart and Tedesco. During the main event, Justin rode through
the pain of his hand, and crossed the finish line for ninth. Justin Brayton took fifth overall for the
weekend. All-in-all, Brayton felt good
on the weekend and enjoyed the experience that he got out on the track with
some of his future 450 competitors.
Justin is looking forward to the AMA Supercross season to begin. He would like to thank everyone who came out
to support him- family, friends, sponsors and fans. US Open of Supercross Overall
