5/20/2011 - Justin Brayton Injury Update - Out Unitl Round Three of the 2011 Nationals

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – While leading his heat race at the supercross finale in Las Vegas Justin Brayton snagged a tuff block cover and badly twisted his ankle.  After returning to North Carolina he was examined and thought to have not sustained injury that would prevent him from competing at the opening round of the AMA Motocross Championship Series on May 21.

After experiencing severe discomfort while trying to ride he visited another physician accompanied by Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX Team trainer Tim Gearhart.  It was determined that Brayton had sustained a torn deltoid ligament along with stretched lateral ligaments in his ankle and a strained MCL of the knee.  A cast was applied and will remain in place one week, followed by an immobilizing boot for an additional week.  The team is hopeful that Brayton will be able to compete by round three of the series.

Brayton’s teammate Davi Millsaps is healthy and ready for the 43rd Annual Hangtown Motocross Classic at Prarie City State Recreation Park in Sacramento, Calif. this Saturday.  The first moto will be broadcast live on allisports.com and Fuel TV at 4:00 p.m. (EST).  The second moto will air on SPEED May 22 at 11:00 a.m. (EST).  There will also be a highlights and re-cap show of the race Thursday May 26 at 10:00 p.m. (EST) on Fuel TV.  The full race and broadcast schedule can be found on www.jgrmx.com.
